Abstract
This is a modern English version of Jonathan Edwards(1703-1758) famous "Treatise Concerning the Religious Affections." Arguably the greatest theologian of American history, Edwards wrote this treatise during the times of the first Great Awakening. He preached a series of sermons in 1742-43 dealing with the subject of distinguishing between true and false religious experience. The Treatise was the text of these sermons revised for publication in 1746; now abridged and presented in this edition in contemporary English.

What troubles the Christian church would have escaped, if believers had kept to what Scripture teaches about a true experience of salvation! Edwards was masterful at understanding this and explaining it. - from Amazon
